Privacy and analytics notice
Airport WTF is operated by its owner in Illinois, United States. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@airportwtf.com.
What we collect and why
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and interactions with the directory, including airport, terminal, concourse, and category selections; establishment-detail views; source-link clicks; the page visited; the referring website’s domain; and general browser, device, and approximate-location information. We use this information to assess demand and improve the directory.
We do not send text entered into the site’s search box, full referring URLs, names, email addresses, account information, or payment information to Google Analytics. Airport WTF does not currently offer user accounts or accept payments.
Legal basis and your choice
The legal basis for this processing is your consent. Google Analytics does not load unless you select “Allow analytics.” Declining has no effect on your access to the site. You may withdraw consent at any time through “Privacy choices” in the footer; withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before it.
Cookies, recipients, and transfers
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies and pseudonymous identifiers to distinguish visits and sessions. Airport WTF limits these cookies to 60 days and disables Google Signals, advertising personalization, and advertising storage. Google LLC processes the information on our behalf. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries under Google’s applicable data-processing terms and transfer safeguards.
Retention and your rights
Google Analytics user-level and event-level data is retained according to the property’s configured retention period; Airport WTF’s policy is to use the shortest available period, currently two months. Aggregated reports may be retained longer. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Your analytics preference is stored in your browser with the date and version of this notice. Clearing browser storage resets that preference. Because Airport WTF does not associate analytics identifiers with names or accounts, we may be unable to identify a particular analytics record as yours without additional information.
